The Golden Rule

I wish that I could treat the world

The way that it treats me

They condescend as I pretend

It doesn’t bother me

I often try to see the world

from others’ points of view

I’m in their shoes and what they choose

Is to fuel the flaming feud

Is it so hard to reciprocate

And see it from my side

They think it through and sit and stew

Their brains will not abide

It seems as though the people

Haven’t quite enough time

They judge and hate whilst I relate

I must be the only one trying
